A Playdough Mat

5 Additional "B is for Bunny" Activities

We're all about building learning step-by-step. The more ways your learner interacts with the "B is for Bunny" concept, the more defined his or her neural pathway becomes. We want clear brain trails because they lead to longer lasting learning. Continue paving the "B is for Bunny" learning trail when you:

 

1. Observe Bunnies and Make a Model Habitat

  1. Observe Bunnies
    • If you have bunnies in your neighborhood:
      • Go outside and watch them. 
      • Think about where they get water, food, and shelter.
    • If you don’t have bunnies in your neighborhood:
  2. Describe the type of environment you see
    • What plants are there?
    • In what type of biome is the video recorded
    • Based on your knowledge of that biome, where is the bunny likely to find food, water, and shelter?
  3. Make the Model Habitat
    • Make a diorama using a shoebox and art supplies make a model of a bunny’s habitat that includes food, water, and shelter.
    • Draw a picture that shows the bunny in its habitat featuring food, water and shelter.

2. Read Bunny Books

While we've provided links to some read alouds on YouTube for your convenience, we highly encourage you to check out bunny books from your local library. Nothing beats reading together! While you read, see how many b's your learner can find in a sentence, on a page, or in the whole book.


3. Sing Bunny Songs

  • Little Bunny Foo Foo Reading Skills and Character Education: Story Telling, Obedience, and Kindness
  • B-U-N-N-Y Song Language Arts, Reading and Spelling: Adjectives, repetition and patterns
  • Sleeping Bunnies Gross Motor Skills: Hop, skip, and jump

4. Eat a Bunny Snack

  • Chomp on carrots like a bunny might.
  • Make a bunny cracker snack (idea from Strong Start).
    • Use a round cracker for the bunny head.
    • Spread on cream cheese to make the toppings stick.
    • Apple slices make the ears.
    • Small, round objects (like cheerios) for the eyes.
    • A raisin for the nose.
    • Cheese for the whiskers.
  • Serve Annie’s Organic Bunny snacks


5. Color Bunnies

Not only does coloring develop littlest learners' artistic skills it also aids in developing muscles required for writing and strengthens their ability to focus. Coloring is impactful. So, print out your favorite "b is for bunny" coloring page, get out the colors, and join your little learner in the meaningful fun.
