The forests are aflame around us and we’re praying the moisture helps put them out. How’s your school year going so far? Have you started? What does it look like for you? (Updated 4/19/2022.) Three and a half days. That’s all the Mr. was given to set up before the first day of school. In a new grade level. In an unfamiliar teaching format. Challenge accepted. Blessing acknowledged. You know, I’ve heard story after story testifying that when God moves, He waits until what seems like the very last minute. This was precisely our experience of Him. At the end of last school year, the Mr. decided he wanted to secure a job with the district in which we live, thereby affording him the opportunity to insert himself in the activities of the community (the district in which he taught previously was a 45-minute drive – hardly conducive to community engagements). We held our breath all summer as interview after interview came and went with no admittance into the local school district, even though many seemed promising. Finally, with 3 ½ days before school started, the Mr. was hired as a third-grade online teacher in our local school district. A challenge? Yes.

(Updated 8/5/2022) Welcome, leaders, to Wolfe Stew! We are SO glad you’re here. Do you ever feel as though you’re fighting an uphill battle? Like you take one arduous step forward just to be knocked backward by a gust of wind? I don’t know about you, but for me, things haven’t felt “normal” since February, and in the upcoming days all I continue to see is uncertainty. As an individual who plans her planning, uncertainty frightens me. So how do we keep going? For me, it’s not me. It’s God. In the face of all this uncertainty, I cling to my Rock – the one who has been and always will be certain. I trust He’ll guide me through with His gentle hand and will restore peace in my soul, both in daily snippets and eventually as a season. What about you?
