Halloween 2022 | JOY for Today

What about Halloween brings you JOY? Is it costumes? Candy? Spending time with family and friends? Challenging your fears? I am tired today! Are you tired, too? The seasonal shift affected me physically this year, perhaps for the first time ever. Regardless, I am still loving fall. So breathtaking! The street that welcomes you into our neighborhood is lined with yellow trees that shine in God's glory. I'm determined to take my time in raking up the leaves on our front yard because each time I open my door the colorful splendor raises my spirits. How are you doing, Leader? Columbus Day 2022 | JOY for Today

Oh, Columbus Day, the years have not been kind to you. Once, this federally recognized holiday meant schools and all other government agencies closed so we could celebrate the Renaissance era discovery of the Americas that shifted the course of history. Now, it is a source of conflict and many of us avoid the topic altogether. To find JOY for this day, I challenge you to embrace Columbus' spirit of adventure, his persistence in pursuing his dreams, and extending grace to others as you remember the abundant grace that has been extended to you. L is for Leafbug was filmed on our front porch in Loveland, Colorado. We have seen 2 leafbugs since we have lived here. People say they are rare, so being visited twice is pretty cool! We hope to see them even more! This is intended for Preschool and Kindergarten to enhance their learning of the alphabet.
