Happy New Year!

Welcome Back Leaders of Littles!  How we've missed you!  As promised, you're seeing us in 2020!  The January Idea for Every Day Calendar remains a work in progress.  But, as 2020 commences tomorrow, the need for activities emerges.  Today we unveil the first eleven days of activities and selected link pairings to go with them.

New Year's Day Ideas

A conglomeration of celebration activities for New Year's Day

We wanted to specifically feature New Year's Day as it is tomorrow and you're likely short on time to get some of these ideas in.  We'll blast social media, but also wanted it featured here.  To start your 2020 off right, consider whipping up a special breakfast.  Good Housekeeping has 33 recommended recipes for just this occasion.  Or, make your favorite.  What is your favorite brunch recipe?  We'd love to know!  Whether it's new or tried and true.  Our favorite is a sausage brunch braid from Amelia Meaux featured at Taste of Home.  It's beautiful, tasty and relatively easy to make.  Give it a try, if you'd like, then let us know what you think.

Craving some family friendly ideas?  Then, we recommend you hurry on over to Fantastic Fun and Learning post haste.  This lady knows how to celebrate New Year's Day in some fun and fantastic ways - from breakfast to bath time she's thought of it all!

Oh no!  You're reading this and New Year's Day already passed?  No worries.  It's a New Year still.  You're free to do these activities any time.

Featured National Days in January

Daily academic or social emotional tie-ins to complement holidays for through the first full week of January.

New Year's Day ends, yet time goes on, inviting even more reasons to celebrate.  Continue relaxing through the break with Sci-Fi Day, National Drinking Straw Day, National Trivia Day and National Bird Day.  Then, when learners return ready to learn, you'll be prepared on National Thank Goodness It's Monday!

Engaging activities await covering topics including bobbleheads, skin relief, law enforcement, and energy conservation.  Before you know it, it's already Saturday.  The first week back under your belt, you're ready to take on global issues.  How about human trafficking?  There's a worthy cause for you.

Calendar User Guide

Within our January Idea for Everyday Calendar, you'll find activities with selected link pairings for each of these National Days.  Search through the menu.  Select the courses that meet your learners' needs, speak to your passions, correspond with curriculum topics, or just sound fun.  Then, add them into your planner.  Or, if you're planning and need an activity to fill in a void, browse the menu and find one that works for you.  Be flexible.  No one says you can only honor law enforcement officers on National Law Enforcement Day.  Please see this calendar as a collection of ideas, not a list of what to do and when.

For ease of use, consider printing and paper-clipping it in your planner or displaying it near your planning place.  Digital are you?  Then, bookmark, make a shortcut or link to the calendar.

The Why of it All

Our purpose in creating these calendars is to inspire you with new ideas that invite fun into learning.  It is our hope that they breathe fresh air into your learning space that stimulates creativity, collaboration, enjoyment and meaningful learning.

This calendar, as of December 31, 2019, remains unfinished. Once complete, the updated version and today's version will share the same link.  Also, we will inform you of its completion here and on social media.

Leaders, thank you so much for all you do each and every day!  We hope you found your Winter Break full of peace, love and joy.  We bet when you return on Monday your learners' love and laughter will greet you.  They missed you!

Wishing You all the Best in 2020,
Offering Samplings of Life by a Husband and Wife
